Africa Soccer Herve Renard tops 50-list of coaches who could take over Bafana Bafana job

Herve Renard

Former Zambia and Ivory Coast manager Herve Renard, 52, is said to be topping the race for Bafana Bafana coaching job after the sacking of Molefi Ntseki.

They are numerous, but South African football association (SAFA) will have to pick one among them.

According to reports this Thursday, Herve Renard would be the leading the race for the highly-coveted post for which more over fifty coaches applied already.

However, it is reported that current Al Ahly coach and former Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa coach Pitso Mosimane is ruled out of this post.

As a reminder, Renard won the AFCON two times with the first one being clinched in 2012 with Zambia’s Chipolopolo and the second one six years ago (2015) with Ivory Coast.

If his move from Saudi Arabia where he is currently in post comes to materialize, South Africa will be the fifth team Herve Renard will coach in Africa after Angola, Morocco, Zambia and Ivory Coast.
