Africa Soccer DSTV PREMIERSHIP : Chiefs salvage 1-1 draw against Moroka Swallows

South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs came from behind to settle for a 1-1 draw with Moroka Swallows FC in a DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday evening.

Swallows went ahead in the eighth minute when Kagiso Malinga’s reacted the fastest to connect Sifiso Hlanti’s delivery from the left wing beating Chiefs goalkeeper Bvuma.

However, Chiefs levelled matters seven minutes later through Leonardo Castro’s goal-mouth finish following Happy Mashiane’s header that bounced off the near post, beating Swallows goalkeeper Vries.

In other games, Bloemfontein Celtic and Cape Town City played out to a goalless draw whereas Maritzburg United boosted their survival hopes with a 3-2 win over Golden Arrows.

Swallows are on position five with 41 points from 26 games whereas Chiefs are on position 10 with 30 points from 27 matches.

Up the table, Mamelodi Sundowns remain on the driving seat with 57 points from 26 games.

Sundowns are seven points ahead of second-placed AmaZulu who lost 1-0 to Baroka FC on Tuesday when Richard Mbulu scored. AmaZulu have a game in hand.
