Tokyo 2020 Tokyo 2020: Quadri Exit Ends Nigeria’s Table Tennis Podium Hope

Nigeria’s podium hope at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games have ended following the surprising defeat to Aruna Quadri.
Quadri who is the Team Nigeria captain had much time to prepare for his opening game after earned byes into 3rd round.
However, he failed to come to the party losing 2-4 to his Brazillian opponent Gustavo Tsuboi early this morning.

Quadri got things going in the first round winning Tsuboi 15-13 before lost the second and third 9-11, 6-11 respectively.
He bounced back to win 11-7 in the fourth set to level.
He went on to lose the fifth and sixth set 7-11 and 5-11 which saw him exit the men’s singles in the 3rd round on 2-4 (15-13, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7, 7-11, 5-11).
