Transfers Ivory Coast Midfielder Serge Aka Joined Turkish Super Lig Side Altay SK On Free Transfer

El-Gouna and Ivory Coast midfielder Serge Aka has signed for Turkish Super Lig outfit Altay SK. Aka opted for the Turkish side after having spent two years in Egypt.

The 26-year-odl player has been plying his trade with El-Gouna since January 2019, joining from Tunisian side Club Sportif Sfaxien.

Since then, the defensive midfielder has been an integral part of the El-Gouna squad. He made 66 appearances for the Hurghada-based club, including 28 this season.

His impressive performances even earned him a call-up to the Ivory Coast national team as he was part of the squad that played in the 2022 AFCON qualifiers earlier this year.

Now after his contract ended with El-Gouna, Aka was acquired by the newly-promoted Altay SK on a free transfer.

The same team was rumored to have submitted an official bid to sign Al Ahly striker Ahmed Yasser Rayan on a season-long loan.

Altay were relegated to the TFF First League in 2003, where they spent the majority of the last 18 years, excluding brief seasons in the third and fourth division.

The two-time Turkish Cup winners are looking to strengthen their squad in order to avoid relegation next season. And they have started doing so by acquiring former Galatasaray midfielder Ceyhun Gülselam.
