Africa Soccer UAFA Appoints Egyptian Referee El-Banna To Officiate Arab Club Championship Final

The final of the Arab Club Championship is set to take place on Saturday, August 21 in Morocco. Saudi Arabia’s Ittihad Jeddah will face off against Raja Casablanca who will have the home advantage. And the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) has chosen Egyptian referee Mahmoud El-Banna to officiate the meeting.

Raja qualified after beating Egypt’s Ismaily in the semi-final after a second leg comeback which saw them win 3-1 on aggregate. Meanwhile, Ittihad beat their fellow compatriots Al-Shabab 4-3 on aggregate.

The final was postponed on several occasions as they were unable to organize the game due the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now with just two weeks before the game, UAFA have chosen Egyptian referee Mahmoud El-Banna as the match official.

His fellow countrymen Mahmoud Abo Elregal, Ahmed Hossam Taha will be his first and second assistants. And Amin Omar will stand as the fourth official.

Gehad Greisha will be in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). And he will have another Arab assistant referee who is yet to be unveiled.
