Libya welcome Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-led Gabon at Benina Martyrs Stadium in in Benghazi on Wednesday evening.

The Group H match kick-starts the World Cup second round qualifying campaign.

Libya underwent camp training in Turkey to fine-tune for the match under the tutelage of Spanish coach Javier Clemente.

After today’s game, Libya will travel to Angola for the second match of the group whereas Gabon will host Egypt on Sunday.

Gabon coach Patrice Neveu has assembled a strong squad which the Arsenal captain Aubameyang leads.

Mfa Mezui, Bruno Ecuele, Assoume Akue, Johan Obiang and Lloyd Palun, Poko, Mario Lemina, Guelor Kanga, Aaron Boupendza, Denis Bouanga and Aubameyang are likely to start in Gabon’s starting XI.

Neveu recently described the group, which includes Egypt and Angola who are also meeting today in Cairo, as balanced.
