CAF Champions League We are here to get a result—Bullets coach Pasuwa

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa has said his charges hope to get ‘a result’ in South Africa against AmaZulu this afternoon.

AmaZulu are set for their CAF Champions League debut when they take on the Malawi league champions in the preliminary round first-leg match at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

In a post-match press conference on Thursday, the Zimbabwean said his players were all set for the showdown.

We want to do more; we are here to take a result and I hope the better team will win,” he said.

The former Zimbabwe’s Warriors mentor said both teams had ‘50/50’ chances of winning the match despite that AmaZulu are playing at home.

Pasuwa said he had told his players to be ‘positive and to counter’ if they are to win the match.

Earlier, the Zimbabwean suggested to the Malawi press that he had limited knowledge about AmaZulu, but on Thursday he changed the tune.

Pasuwa said he had done his research on AmaZulu, citing the fact DStv Premiership matches are readily accessible on television.

The Blantyre-based team showed its potential by reaching the final of Cecafa Kagame Cup in Tanzania where they lost 1-0 to Express FC from Uganda last month.

Bullets will host AmaZulu at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on September 18 2021 in the second leg.

Bullets are the unprecedented 14-time league champions in Malawi and are three points ahead this season over second-placed Silver Strikers.

Bullets have been in the competition for some years and achieved their best performance in 2004 when they reached the group stages after sailing past Orlando Pirates (South Africa), SC Villa (Uganda) and Zanaco (Zambia).

In their last participation in the Champions League in 2019, Bullets lost 3-2 in Zimbabwe to FC Platinum after a goalless draw in Blantyre in the first round, first leg match.
