CAF Champions League Akwa United Crashes Out Of CAF Champions League

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Akwa United have been eliminated from this season CAF Champions League.

Akwa United lost 2-0 to Algerian side CR Belouzidad in Sunday’s second leg of the CAF champions League in Algeria.

The Promise Keepers travelled to Algeria on the back of their 1-0 win on the first leg.

However, they fell to a 2-0 defea as the game ended 2-1 aggregate which saw the Algerian side progressed to the next round of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

Rivers United is now the only NPFL club in the CAF Champions League following their victory against Young Africans club.

Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the second legs of the CAF Champions League on Sunday, the draws for the first round has been made.

Rivers United will play Al-Hilal in the next round.

The NPFL will play at home in the first leg which comes up October 15-16 before they will travel to Al-Hilal for the second leg.

The 16 winners will qualify for the group money spinning group stage.
