COSAFA Angola v Malawi, SA v Mozambique: Line-Ups

Angola will host Malawi and South Africa face Mozambique in a Group A double header for the Cosafa Women’s Championship in South Africa this Monday afternoon.

The Malawi game will take place at Madibaz Stadium from 3:30pm Southern African time simultaneously with Banyana Banyana’s clash with Mozambique at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The four teams are eyeing a semifinal slot as the winners of each of the three groups plus the overall second best will qualify.

Malawi have three points from two games whereas Angola have two points and bottom-placed Mozambique (one point). South Africa lead the table on four points.

The Scorchers of Malawi are coming from a win over Mozambique having bounced back from the 2-1 loss to Banyana Banyana last week.

Malawi co-interim coaches McNebert Kazuwa and Andrew Chikhosi have since named their playing squad for the game.

Malawi has made two changes to the squad that beat Mozambique, dropping goalkeeper Samira Amidu and Zainabu Kapanda in favour of Ruth Mhango and Vanesa Chikupira.

South Africa will also take on Mozambique while hoping for a win to seal their place in the last-four

Elsewhere, Tanzania confirmed their place in the semifinals from Group B as they have six points, three points ahead of second-placed Botswana and Zimbabwe whereas South Sudan are winless.

Elsewhere, Zambia lead group C with six points ahead of Uganda’s four and Namibia (one point) and Eswatini (0).
