AFCON Patrice Motsepe : CAF President arrives Cameroon to decide AFCON 2021 fate

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe arrived in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Monday morning to meet the local authorities in order to decide the fate of the Africa Cup of nations (AFCON 2021).

The South African was welcomed by Newly-elected Cameroon Football federation (Fecafoot) president Samuel Eto’o as he came from Doha, Qatar where Algeria lifted the FIFA Arab Cup over Tunisia on Saturday night.

Motsepe will meet later the authorities and expressed according to reports, his wish to have a meeting with the country’s president Paul Biya.

Samuel Eto’o welcoming CAF President Patrice Motsepe.

However, he’ll first visit Olembe Stadium which will host the inaugural game between hosts Cameroon and Burkina Faso’s Stallions.

Pending all the meetings ahead of him and CAF Deputy president Augustin Senghor, Patrice Motsepe spoke to the media and reassured fans that they want to make of AFCON 2021 in Cameroon a success.

“We are very clear in terms of the commitment to make the AFCON in Cameroon a success”, Motsepe told the media.

“And I am convinced that after our meetings today [Monday] and tomorrow [Tuesday], we will be able to come to you and give Africa and the world the confidence that we have through engagement “, he added.
