AFCON NFF Considers Appointing Eguavoen As Super Eagles Head Coach

The Nigeria Football Federation NFF is considering terminating the contract of Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles head coach and hand Augustine Eguavoen a permanent contract.

Eguavoen was appointed to take over in interim capacity following the sacking of Gernot Rohr before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The NFF went ahead to appoint Peseiro as head coach, but asked Eguavoen to take charge of the Super Eagles an interim capacity as the Portuguese would take over from him after the AFCON.

However, following the performance of the team under the tutelage of Eguavoen, the NFF is considering reneging the contract of Peseiro.
