Champions League Mosimane says Al Merreikh game is a must-win for Al Ahly

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has described the Egyptian side’s Group A game against Al Merreikh SC in the CAF Champions League as a must-win.

The Sudanese side lost 3-2 in Cairo to Al Ahly two weeks ago and now welcome the holders in Sudan on Friday.

Ahead of the game, Mosimane on Thursday said his team cannot afford to drop more points.

“We have one goal ahead of us and that is to win tomorrow’s game. It’s normal to work under pressure in football, as we are expected to win the competition we play in,” he told Al Ahly website.

We are only focused on Friday’s game. We are preparing well for it with the help of our fitness coach, Kabelo Rangoaga, who works very well for the team.

“I prefer to work under the current circumstances with a team like Al Ahly, who is accustomed to winning everything. We have a lot of players with great experiences that are able to deliver the objectives.”

Al Ahly have four points at par with Al Merreikh and Al Hilal also from Sudan.

Al Hilal welcome leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have already sealed their quarterfinal place.
