FIFA World Cup DR Congo Share Spoils With Morocco In The World Cup Play-offs First Leg

DR Congo hosted Morocco  at the Stade des Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa for the first leg of African World Cup play-offs. And it’s all to play for going into the second game on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw.

The home side took the lead with just 12 minutes on the clock when Brentford’s Yoane Wissa scored.

The Moroccans were awarded a penalty kick in the 55th minute after a handball in the box. But the spot kick was blazed over the bar by Ryan Mmae. However, Morocco finally got their reward in the 76th minute when Tarik Tissoudali found the back of the net. 

DR Congo ended the contest with 10 men after Ngonda Muzinga was given his marching orders by the referee.

The second leg takes place on Tuesday at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca at 19:30 GMT with the winner to go through to the World Cup.
