Nigerian Players abroad UCL : Super Eagles’ Chukwueze Scored Late To Send Villarreal To Semi-Finals

Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze scored late in the 88th minute to condemn the Bundesliga kings Bayern Munich to yet another disappointing UEFA Champions League exit.

The Super Eagles winger was on hand to score from a counter attack by the Yellow Submarines to send the German giants out of Europe’s elite football competition.

Villarreal fell behind to Robert Lewandowski’s first goal of the match as the hosts began to crank up pressure on the Spanish side in the 52nd minute.

The German champions pushed hard and dominated in terms of both possession and chances in the second half.

But they were undone at a crucial time as the Yellow Submarines winger slotted home two minutes from time to leave the six-time European champions Bayern hardly any time to respond. Chukwueze beat goalkeeper Manuel Neuer with a left-foot effort to silence the home crowd.
