British Football magazine, FourFourTwo has ranked Super Eagles’ striker Victor Osimhen as one of the best players in the Italian Serie A. The Nigerian international emerges in fourth position despite playing considerably lesser number of games than others.

Osimhen has played 21 of Napoli’s 32 league games this season. And the striker has proven to be arguably their most important player.

The Super Eagles attacker has scored 12 league goals in 21 games and has assisted his teammates four times.

He has also won six penalties in the ongoing season and is one of Napoli’s go-to men.

Osimhen scored his fifth goal in his last three games for Partenopei in the damning home loss to Fiorentina. He had bagged braces against Udinese and Hellas Verona.

Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Lazio’s Ciro Immobile chasing his fourth top scorer gong in the Serie A are the players ranked above Osimhen.

“Osimhen’s goals have been the ammunition to Napoli’s assault on the league title this season, although the Nigerian has had another injury-disrupted year.” FourFourTwo wrote in its description of Osimhen’s impacts this season.

“The 23-year-old was badly missed when he spent two months on the sidelines with a fractured cheek between November and January. But he’s been in formidable form since returning.

“Osimhen has six goals in seven games since returning to the starting line-up at the beginning of February, including back-to-back braces in his last two games.” Continued FourFourTwo in its description.

The Nigerian is helping Napoli mount a title challenge as the Neapolitans are locked in a 3-horse race for the Serie A title with the Milan giants.
