Ghana Black Stars claimed the third-place position in the Kirin Cup 2022 thanks to their 3-1 win on penalties (0-0 at full-time) against Chile on Tuesday morning with Abdul Manaf Nurudeen making two saves in the shootouts.

Giving Manaf Nurudeen a starting role was one of the major decisions Otto Addo made going into this game.

And the 23-year old who is playing for Belgian side Eupen proved his coach right as he was decisive in the penalties.

Andre Ayew and teammates showed courage as hey reduced to 9-men from the 78th minute as Alidu Seidu (67th) and Mubarak Wakaso goy red-acrded.

Black Stars went on beating Chile in the penalties with Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scoring.

Ghana finished the competition at third position and ended their Japan tourney pending the matchday 3 and 4 of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers in September before they fly to Qatar for the World Cup.
