Nigeria WAFCON 2022: Super Falcons Trains Ahead Game Against Zambia

Prior to their WAFCON 2022 Third-Place encounter against Zambia in Casablanca on Friday, the Super Falcons of Nigeria trained at the Stade El Bechir Mohammedia in Mohammedia, Morocco.

On Friday, July 22, the Super Falcons will play the Copper Queens of Zambia at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

On Monday, July 18, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, the Falcons lost 5-4 on penalties to the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco after the two teams tied 1-1 after 120 minutes of play.

Sanaa Mssoudy scored the Super Falcons’ equalizer after Yasmin Mrabet’s own goal had given them the lead.

Banyana Banyana of South Africa defeated the Copper Queens 1-0 in the semi-final on Monday, July 18 at the Mohammed V Stadium thanks to Linda Molthalo’s lone goal, which she scored from a penalty kick in the 94th minute.

Prior to the Third-Place game, the Super Falcons media staff revealed the Nigerians’ final practice session on the team’s Twitter account.
Nine times champions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), the Super Falcons took home the bronze medal in 2008 and placed fourth in 2012.
