Champions Bayern Munich opened the new season with a 6-1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to a goal from Sadio Mane on his Bundesliga debut.
The 30-year-old Senegalese forward made it 3-0 by heading in a cross from Serge Gnabry as Bayern led 5-0 at the break.
Before Jamal Musiala scored his second goal late in the game to seal the scoring, Randal Kolo Muani restored parity.
In addition to Benjamin Pavard and Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich also scored on a free-kick.
Mane scored in Bayern’s German Super Cup victory over RB Leipzig last week. Mane moved to Bayern from Liverpool for £35 million in June.
Frankfurt won the Europa League last year and will play Real Madrid, who won the Champions League, in the Uefa Super Cup on next Wednesday.
