The Barcelona striker may require surgery to repair his injuries which are expected to put Aubameyang out of action for three weeks.

On social media on Wednesday, Aubameyang described his attackers as cowards and reassured about the health stateof his family.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the messages.” Aubameyang wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

On Sunday night, some violent cowards broke into our home and threatened my family and my children, just to steal some stuff.

“They injured my jaw. But I will recover in no time. And thank God no one else was physically harmed.

“The feeling that we are no longer safe in our own home is hard to understand and describe. But as a family, we will overcome this and stand stronger than ever.

“Thanks for all the support, it really means a lot to us. Auba.”

It is thought the injury will not impact a potential transfer for the Gabon star to Chelsea prior to Thursday’s deadline as talks continue between Chelsea and Barcelona.

FC Barcelona had said Aubameyang and his wife were both doing well despite the attack.

Aubameyang, a Gabon international, signed for Barcelona at the beginning of the year after long stints with Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.
