Bafana Bafana abroad French Ligue 2 Side In Advanced Talks To Move Percy Tau From Al Ahly

French Ligue 2 club Le Havre AC are said to be leading the race for the South African forward Percy Tau on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent.

Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau completed a permanent move to Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-year contract last summer.

The South African striker had a good start with the Red Castle. But he has been hampered with injuries and fell down the pecking order to the likes of Taher Mohamed and youngster Ziad Tarek.

However, the 28-year-old still managed to score eight goals while assisting six, inspiring Al Ahly to win the 2021 CAF Super Cup and reach the CAF Champions League final this season.

Having not scored or assisted in domestic competitions since November of 2021, Tau has been linked with an early departure from Cairo back to Europe.

While both teams are yet to reach an official agreement, it’s believed that the negotiations are going in the right way ahead of the European transfer window deadline on Friday, September 2.

Le Havre play in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football, and currently sit eighth on the league table with nine points from the opening eight games expecting to get promotion with the help of their new signings.
