Premier League legend Alan Shearer snubbed Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah as he singles out a player as the best in Liverpool squad so far this season.

The Reds are having a difficult campaign since the start of the new season. Jürgen Klopp’s team is only 7th on the league table after 11 games.

While people believed they are finally back with their statement win over Manchester City and the second in a row against West Ham, Liverpool bowed to relegation-based side Nottingham Forest (1-0) on Saturday.

A so disappointing season debut for a team which is supposed to be title contenders.

Mohamed Salah who used to be Liverpool’s goal-getter in the last years is also far from his standards this season.

The Pharaoh has only netted 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 11 Premier League games. Figures which are insignificant when comparing to the past seasons’ Mo Salah.

Thus said, Alan Shearer believes Roberto Firmino is the best Liverpool player so far this season.

The Brazilian forward who has 6 goals and 3 assists in 10 Premier League appearances got Shearer praising him.

“He’s been their best player over this season, there is no doubt about that. There were questions if Firmino was going to be the one to lose his place, the former Newcastle striker said, as per HitC.

“But that’s not been the case. His hold-up play has been superb. He’s got goals that his performances deserve“, he added.
