Manchester United broke silence in a statement after Cristiano Ronaldo disrespected the club and Erik ten Hag during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The 37-year old told Morgan who is a friend of him that he feels ‘betrayed’ by Manchester Unirted officials.

Ronaldo claims nothing changed inside the club talking about facilities since he left in 2009 till his comeback in summer 2021.

Furthermore, the five-time Ballon d’or said he has no respect for his coach Erik ten Hag as the latter does not have any for him.

Reports claim everyone at the club is surprised after discovering what their player said on media.

And the wait for Man United’s response did not last long as the Old Trafford-based side issued a statement concerning the bombshell Ronaldo launched with Piers Morgan.

‘I don’t have respect for him [Erik ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,’ said Ronaldo.

‘Some people, they don’t want me here – not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.

‘Honestly, I shouldn’t say that. But listen, I don’t care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.’ 

Responding to these declarations, MU board said the will will wait to watch the remainder of the interview which will be released on Wednesday and Thursday before taking action.

“Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo”, a statement on the club’s website reads.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”
