FIFA World Cup Ghana Black Stars 26-man squad for World Cup 2022 revealed

Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has released a 26-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

The West African nation is one of the teams which were yet to release their squad.

And Otto Addo put an end to the suspense on Monday morning during a press conference.

Apart from Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Charleton shot-stopper Jojo Wollacott who are ruled with injuries, Mubarak Wakaso and Jeffery Schluppalso missed out on the 26-man squad.

The Crystal Palace midfielder’s absence surprised more than one as he is a regular starter with the Eagles under Patrick Viera where he made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Ghana are placed in Group H of the World Cup where they will play against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal (November 24), South Korea (November 28) and Uruguay (December 2).

Goalkeepers : Lawrence Ati Zigi, Abdul Nurudeen, Ibrahim Danlad.

Defenders : Denis Odoi, Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, Abdul-Rahman Baba, Gideon Mensah.

Midfielders : André Ayew, Thomas Partey, Elisha Owusu, Salis Abdul Samed, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh

Forwards : Daniel Barnieh Afriyie, Kamal Sowah, Issahaku Abdul Fatawu, Osman Bukari, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Kamaldeen Sulemana.
