Nigerian Players abroad Orban Fastest Hat trick Sends Gent To Europa Conference League Quarterfinals

By completing a hat-trick in the shortest time in UEFA club competition history, Gift Orban has cemented his place in history.

In the second leg of Gent vs. Istanbul Başakşehir’s round of 16 match, the Nigerian striker scored three goals in three minutes and 25 seconds.

He surpassed records set in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

As Gent defeated Zulte-Waregem 6-2 on the road in the Belgian Jupiler on Sunday, Orban scored four goals.

Gent’s goal in the 1-1 home draw in the first leg against Istanbul Basaksehir was scored by Orban.


However, Orban scored a hat-trick in rapid succession on Wednesday to give Gent a 5-2 victory and advance to the quarterfinals.

With his most recent four games across all competitions, the 20-year-old has scored nine goals.

Orban scored first in the 31st minute and then doubled the score in the next minute.

He then scored his team’s third goal, completing his hat trick, in the 34th minute.

With two minutes remaining, former Manchester United forward Adnan Januzaj scored for Basaksehir.
