Former FC Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique hs his say on a possible comeback of Lionel Messi in the Catalonian side and his words proved there is still a rift between them.

Messi reportedly labelled Pique as a traitor in his last days at Barcelona as the former Spanish defender would have leaked some of his private informations to the media.

Nearly two years after Messi’s departure, things are yet to be fixed between them and Pique didn’t even congratulate the latter after he won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.

These last days, Lionel Messi’s comeback to Barcelona is the main topic in Spain alongside the Negreira case.

President Joan Laporta and Xavi Hernadez are all keen on bringing Messi back home when his contract runs out in June with PSG.

However, Pique is not the happiest man with the news and his reaction on Saturday proved it.

“It would be amazing for Leo Messi to return to Barça, but forcing situations too much I feel it can be negative”, Piqué said, as per Barça Universal.

“I would let Messi’s return happen naturally, in the end it will happen because I think both parties want it to happen.”
