Nigeria NFF Confirms Flying Eagles,Falconets To Resume Training

The Nigeria Football Federation NFF has announced that the men’s and women’s U20 national teams will resume training this week in preparation for their respective international competitions.

The Flying Eagles, who finished third in the recent CAF U20 African Nations Cup, will begin preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup, while the Falconets, the women’s U20 national team, will begin preparations for the WAFU U20 Championship, which Ghana will host in May.

Speaking ahead of the camping, the NFF General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed, confirmed to BSN Sports that the two national teams will resume camping this week to begin their preparations for successful outings.

I can confirm to you that the two national teams will resume camping this week. Sanusi said in an interview.

“We are waiting for the coaches to submit their programmes which will help us to know and put certain things in place ahead of their resumption.

“We will give them all the necessary supports and I believe they will do the country proud.

“Flying Eagles who have been in camp for so long over the time have enjoyed good preparation and will also be taken good care of. Once the coaches submit their programmes, we are good to go.

Nigeria is in the same group as the host, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast in the WAFU women’s competition.

The tournament will be held in Ghana from May 20 to June 2, 2023.

The FIFA U20 World Cup will be held from Saturday, May 20, to Sunday, June 11, 2023. Indonesia will no longer host the U20 World Cup while FIFA announces the new host.
