
Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala lost his first race of the current campaign after coming third in the 100m at the Diamond League meet in Rabat, Morocco on Sunday night.
World champion Fred Kerley of the US won the sprint in 9.94 seconds, South Africa’s Akani Simbine came second in 9.99, Omanyala was third in 10.05 and Botswana teenager Letsile Tebogo finished fourth in 10.09.
American Trayvon Bromell was fifth in 10.10 and Jamaican Yohan Blake sixth in 10.18. Omanyala has taken to his social media pages to assure his fans he will rise again.

“Confidence looks like arrogance to people who don’t believe in themselves,” Omanyala wrote, adding: “We shall rise again. Thank you, Rabat for the memories, see you in Florence.”
The Diamond League moves to Florence in Italy on Friday, where Simbine, Kerley and Omanyala are again scheduled to face off.
