Niger coach Zakariaou Ibrahim Yahaya have promised an entertaining game when they take on Mali in their third 2023 Caf U23 Africa Cup of Nations fixture at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Saturday.

With four points to their name, Niger can secure qualification to the next round with a draw, while Mali, with three points, must secure a victory to advance to the semi-finals. Despite the chance to qualify, coach Yahaya has maintained their seriousness when taking on Mali, insisting his players had fueled the nation’s encouragement.

“We understand that we are creating a remarkable chapter in Nigerien football. Many of our fellow countrymen are closely following us through social media, and we have received an abundance of supportive messages. The players are fueled by the nation’s encouragement,” Yahaya told the media as quoted by CafOnline, adding: “The logistical arrangements have been flawless, and we have had productive training sessions since our arrival in Rabat.”

Niger goalkeeper Naim Van Attenhoven underlined their determination to secure victory: “We are inching closer to our ultimate objective, and we have no option but to secure a win,” adding: “Niger holds a special place in my heart. My teammates are like brothers to me, and we are fully focused on delivering a stellar performance and achieving our objectives.”
