Transfers Done Deal: Ghana’s Benjamin Tetteh seals FC Metz move

Ghana international Benjamin Tetteh has completed a permanent transfer to newly promoted French Ligue 1 side FC Metz for an undisclosed fee.

The French club announced his arrival by saying: “A few days before the official start of the 2023-2024 season, Benjamin Tetteh joins Moselle in the hope of continuing his progress while helping the Garnet club achieve its league goals,” adding: “From the height of his ninety-three meter, there is no doubt that the native of Accra will use his physical abilities to weigh on opposing defenses during the next Ligue 1 Uber Eats season.”

Meanwhile, his former club Hull City of the EFL Championship also took to their official page to confirm his exit: “Forward Benjamin Tetteh has completed a permanent transfer to newly promoted French Ligue 1 side FC Metz for an undisclosed fee,” adding: “The 26-year-old moved to the MKM Stadium from Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor last July and made 17 appearances for the Tigers during an injury-hit 2022-23 season.”

The statement continued: “The Ghana international scored his only City goal in a 2-0 home victory over West Bromwich Albion in March – a powerful angled strike which was voted our Goal of the Month. The frontman provided a further three assists – including two against the Baggies – and won the penalty from which Ozan Tufan netted our opening goal of last season against Bristol City.

“We would like to thank Benjamin for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him well for the future.”

While unveiling the player, Metz confirmed Tetteh will wear jersey no.17.
