The Super Eagles will begin their first practise on Wednesday at 5:00 pm in preparation for their last group match against So Tomé and Principe in the 2024 African Nations Cup qualification at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
As the camp officially reopened today (Wednesday), preparations for the Super Eagles’ match against Sao Tome in an African Cup of Nations qualifier will get underway.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the team’s officials had positioned themselves at the Four Points Sheraton in Uyo, where they were waiting to welcome the players and get them ready for the weekend match.
“Our camp will open on Wednesday not on Monday as initially reported. “
“We expect most of the players to arrive in camp that day; many of them would have been in the country from Tuesday and they would just make a connecting flight to Uyo from Lagos and Abuja the same day so as to arrive at the camp on time. One of the official said.
“We expect to have our first training session by 5 pm on Wednesday and we expect that most of the players would be around to take part in that session,” he said.
Prior to this weekend’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome & Principe, Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has called up 23 players.
Super Eagles are eager to replicate their outstanding performance in front of their home crowd after defeating Sao Tomé and Principe 10-0 in the first leg of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Libya.
