Rwanda AS Kigali denied by Mukura as Muhazi United rally to defeat Etincelles

Mukura Victory Sports’ winless streak on away ground continued as they traveled to Kigali Pelé Stadium to hold AS Kigali to a 1-1 Rwandan Premier League draw on Sunday.

Mukura started the game trying to hold on to the ball and pinned the home side in their half. The ‘Black and Yellow’ side created some decent chances but their attacking trio of Mohammed Sylla, Elie Tatou Iradukunda, and Zuber Hakizimana failed to find the back of the net.

AS Kigali, who were without Andre Casa Mbungo who left the club this week, came into the game from the 30th-minute mark with Fiston Ishimwe and Erisa Ssekisambu in the thick of affairs. The home side’s pair of Herve Rugirayabo and skipper Latif Bishira were very dominant as, aside from their defensive duties, they occasionally popped up to deliver balls in midfield.

Elie Kategeya fired Mukura ahead in the 70th minute before AS Kigali drew level pegging in the 72nd minute through substitute Felix Kone Motin. In another fixture, Muhazi United came from behind to beat Etincelles 3-1 at Ngoma Stadium. It was the newcomers’ biggest win so far this season.
