Liverpool denounced the harm done to the Manchester United bus following a bottle being hurled at it as it traveled to Anfield in preparation for Sunday’s derby.
Their perfect home record this season came to an end as Juergen Klopp’s team was held to a goalless draw by Manchester United, missing the opportunity to take the top spot in the Premier League.
“Liverpool Football Club condemns the actions that resulted in damage to the Manchester United team bus during its arrival at Anfield this afternoon,” the club said in a statement.
“We are aware of images of the incident circulating on the internet and are working with Merseyside Police to fully investigate and identify those responsible.
“Any individual found guilty of this reprehensible behavior will also face the full force of the club’s sanction process.”
Social media videos reveal that the team bus was traveling along Anfield Road when it was struck by what looked to be a glass bottle, which cracked the window.
