Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi claimed Arsenal are the “best team in the Premier League ” after his side’s 2-0 defeat at the Emirates.
The Gunners earned a hard-fought victory against the Seagulls with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, lifting Arsenal to the top of the Premier League after Liverpool were held by Manchester United at Anfield. Arsenal had dominated their visitors but lacked cutting edge ahead of Jesus’ second-half opener.
Giving his verdict of the game, De Zerbi claimed that the north London side are the best team Brighton have come up against this season. “Arsenal played much better than us,” the Italian said. “They deserved to win the game. We suffered a lot.

“I think Arsenal are one of the best, maybe this season the best team in the Premier League. We are not used to suffering in this way. We are used to controlling the game.”
Away from De Zerbi’s praise, Mikel Arteta was also left delighted with his team and had nothing but praise for their performance. He said: “Outstanding, incredible. Big compliment to the team and to the players. I think we had an incredible performance against a top team.”
