Liverpool Klopp Wants Liverpool Fans To Create Fantastic Anfield Atmosphere

The manager of Liverpool, Juergen Klopp, is appealing with fans to help make Anfield a fearful place for Arsenal to play ahead of their matchup between the top two teams in the Premier League on Saturday.

The German lambasted the quiet Anfield crowd on Wednesday during their 0-0 league encounter against Manchester United and their 5-1 League Cup victory over West Ham United, saying that if fans weren’t in the right mindset, they ought to “give their ticket to somebody else.”

During Wednesday’s 0-0 league encounter against Manchester United and 5-1 League Cup triumph over West Ham United, the German coach blasted the hushed Anfield crowd, saying that if fans weren’t in the right mindset, they could “give their ticket to somebody else.”

Liverpool is second in the standings with 38 points.

They have turned Anfield into a fortress by winning every game there for nearly a year.

Despite the frustrating goalless draw on Sunday, Klopp pointed out that his squad had plenty of opportunities, managing 62 shots in total in the West Ham and Manchester United games.

That is pretty special I would say and that is what football is all about,” Klopp said.

“Imagine if we’d have scored with all of them, that is ridiculous.

“When I turned around after we missed a chance, everyone was flat and I was like, ‘What do you want? Creating a chance is as close as you can get to scoring a goal’.

“We should enjoy this time as we are in a pretty good position in the league, maybe quicker than people expect.

“And then the difference for me is that we have a chance and we miss it, it’s ‘ugh’.

“But (usually) after that, the stadium goes bonkers, because immediately we go for the next chance. And that was different. It was.”

Although Mikel Arteta’s team leads the league with 39 points, third-place Aston Villa could briefly pass them if they win on Friday against visiting Sheffield United.

Even though Arsenal has won five of their last six league games, they haven’t won a Premier League match at Anfield since 2012.

“They are really well coached and well drilled.

“They have taken another step (this year) and will have my respect, but we want the points,” the German said.

Klopp also talked about the ruling from the European Court of Justice on Thursday, which concluded that FIFA and UEFA had violated EU law by impeding the formation of a Super League.

Liverpool was one of the teams that proclaimed their allegiance to UEFA.

“I agree 100% with the statement,” he said.

“I also like that we finally get an understanding that UEFA and other FAs can’t just do what they want, putting in more games with people having no say in it. I like that they’ve got a bit of a shake.”
