Hull City have sealed the signing of midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Premier League side Liverpool.

A statement on the club’s official website announced: “Hull City are delighted to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho on loan from Premier League side Liverpool.

“The skilful 21-year-old, who has Championship promotion-winning experience and played in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Champions League, joins the Tigers for the rest of the 2023-24 season.”

Hull head coach Liam Rosenior said: “I couldn’t be happier. Everyone is aware of Fábio’s ability, his qualities as a young player.

“I have to give Acun and Tan so much credit for the work they’ve done to bring him here. We’re building a reputation, not just in England but in Europe, for the way we develop players. Our style of play and ambition are really important factors in attracting players to the club.

“Fabio is excited to be coming here and I’m delighted to be working with him to the end of the season. Technically, he’s outstanding. He can assist, score and run in behind. He’s brave, quick, very balanced and takes the ball.”

The creative forward has made 21 appearances for the Reds – winning the Community Shield and scoring against Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Manchester City – since signing from Fulham in July 2022.

Carvalho’s exceptional form in his final season at Craven Cottage earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Year, recording 19 goal contributions as Marco Silva’s Whites clinched the second-tier title.
