African players abroad Salah the most professional player I have ever met – Liverpool’s Klopp

Klopp Salah

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was delighted to have Mohamed Salah back in his squad after returning from a recent a hamstring injury picked in a 2-2 draw with Ghana during Egypt’s disappointing run in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

After sustaining the injury, the 31-year-old Salah then headed back to Liverpool to continue his treatment and missed crucial games for the Reds against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Burnley. However, the winger finally made his return in a 4-1 win at Brentford on Saturday as he came on in place of Diogo Jota, who was stretchered off the pitch before half-time.

His early introduction paid dividends for Liverpool as Salah made three goal contributions having scored one while providing two assists for Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.

“I’m over the moon that “Mo” is training and he looks really sharp,” Klopp told reporters via Liverpool’s official website, adding: “Thank God they did the job, but having him available is a massive boost, on and off the pitch, definitely.

“It’s nothing to do with the numbers he produces, just his personality and the guy. He is on fire. He wants to get started immediately and so yeah, let’s see.”

Klopp continued: “He’s the most professional player I’ve ever met. He dealt, workload-wise, really well with it, he used it. Let’s see what he produces.”
