All African Games All African Games: Nigeria Sports Minister Charges Team Nigeria To Go For Gold

Nigeria’s delegation to the Africa Games in Ghana, led by Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has been tasked with conquering Africa.

Just before takeoff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Minister spoke to the athletes aboard the plane that would transport them to Ghana for the competition and gave them the reassurance that the entire country was fully behind them.

He went on to say that even though some of the athletes may be playing for the first time, the competition gives them a chance to represent their country with pride.

Let me remind you that you carry the hopes and aspirations of the entire country. As a government, the current administration will encourage you to excel without any hindrance,” he said.

The Minister assured the athletes that they would receive all of their allowances on time and that they would not be underpaid.

Nigeria finished in second place in the 12th All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco in 2019 with 46 gold, 33 silver, and 48 bronze medals.
