Tanzania Onana shines as Simba SC edge out Coastal Union to return to winning ways

Tanzanian Premier League outfit Simba SC grasped a 2-1 success over Coastal Union In a league fixture at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on Saturday.

The victory saw the Wekundu wa Msimbazi reach 39 points from 17 matches and are now seven points adrift leaders and rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC). Freddy Kouablan put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute after connecting a well-delivered cross from Clatous Chama.

The hosts responded positively 13 minutes later with a spectacular dropping ball shot by Lucas Kikoti that landed into the back of Simba net. At 1-1, the game looked balanced as the guest team kept hunting for another goal that came in the 72nd minute courtesy of substitute Essomba Onana.

It was a good reaction for the Msimbazi street-based giants, who had suffered a 2-1 upset against Tanzania Prisons in their previous showdown.
