Chelsea Pochettino Sings Palmer’s Praise Ahead Leicester City Game

Before Sunday’s FA Cup matchup with Leicester City, manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that Cole Palmer has distinguished himself from his teammates by handling the stress of playing for the London side.

In order to acquire 13 new players last year, including Palmer from Manchester City, Chelsea paid more than 400 million pounds ($510 million).

Chelsea’s lack of consistency this season, despite the expense, has made supporters dissatisfied with both the manager and the team’s American owners.

With 13 goals and 11 assists for Chelsea across all competitions, Palmer, 21, has been one of the few bright spots in Chelsea’s otherwise disappointing season.

“In the same time that you ask me about Palmer, not all the players have the same process to be settled at the club or to perform,” Pochettino told reporters.

“We are in a process that the main group, the main young players struggle a little bit to deal with the pressure to play for Chelsea.”

Chelsea has a game in hand but is now in 11th place in the league with 39 points, three points behind Brighton & Hove Albion in eighth. On Sunday, they take on Leicester in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
