Nigeria Ndidi In Action As Leicester Beat Norwich

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi featured in Leicester City 3-1 victory over Norwich at home on Monday to rekindle their pursuit of automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Ndidi played for 85inutes before he was substituted while his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute.

The Foxes’ triumph at the King Power Stadium put them back atop the second-tier Championship in English football, even if it was just for a few hours until Leeds and Ipswich, their rivals for promotion, play later in the day.

After Norwich took the lead thanks to Gabriel Sara’s fourth goal in as many games, Leicester completed a comeback thanks to goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Stephy Mavididi, and Jamie Vardy.

Although Leicester has led the standings for the majority of the season, their victory on Monday was only their third in eight Championship games.

Leicester is currently one point ahead of Ipswich in second position and two ahead of Leeds, who are currently in third place.

Only the top two clubs at the conclusion of the regular season are assured immediate promotion to the Premier League.

After losing, Norwich dropped to sixth place, but they are still in the running for the post-season play-offs, which will determine which team receives the third and final promotion slot.

In the twentieth minute, Sara’s goal from a corner gave the Canaries hope that the day would turn out well.

However, 13 minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall’s first goal since January tied the score, and the Foxes took control of the game.

After Harry Winks’ first attempt was blocked, Mavididi made it 2-1 shortly after the hour mark with a lovely curling shot into the far corner.

Former England striker Vardy, one of the stars of Leicester’s stunning Premier League title triumph eight years ago, then sealed the points in stoppage time with a strong strike.
