Olympic Games CAF Appoints Egyptian Referee For Falcons, Banyana Banyana Showdown

The Confederation of African Football has once again selected North African referees for the Women’s Olympic Football Qualifying match between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and Banyana Banyana of South Africa.

The CAF selected Egyptian Yara Atef Said Abdelfattah to serve as the second assistant referee, while Tunisian Dorsaf Ganouati was chosen as the referee.

Her fellow countrymen Houda Afine and Emna Ajbouni were selected as the first and fourth assistants, respectively.

Cindy Dludlu of e-Swatini will serve as the match commissioner, and Agar Mezing of Cameroon will serve as the referee assessor.

Before leaving Abuja for Lagos on an Air Peace trip to connect with their departure to South Africa on Sunday night, the players practiced on the grounds of their hotel on Saturday morning and at the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Sunday morning.

Nigeria, the nine-time African champions, will land in Johannesburg early on Monday before travelling to Pretoria for an hour.

On Monday at 7.30 p.m. Nigeria time, they are expected to hold their official training at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
