African players abroad Egypt legend Aboutrika unhappy with Salah spat with Jurgen Klopp

Egypt and Al Ahly legend Mohamed Aboutrika heavily criticised Mohamed Salah following his spat with Jurgen Klopp.

Salah started on the bench for Liverpool as they were held to a 2-2 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.

After the game, Salah refused to comment on the incident and refused to put the matter to bed, saying: “If I speak today there will be fire.”

Aboutrika reacted to the situation and defended Klopp, telling beIN Sports as quoted by Kingfut: “I love Salah but he’s in the wrong here because Klopp is the manager. These discussions should be held behind closed doors.

“Both of them are two club legends and this tense relationship should never be public. I feel very upset to see this happen.

“Salah is like my younger brother and a player should never behave like this in front of cameras. This is not a good ending to such a historical career he’s had there.

“No matter how big a player’s star power is, a player and a manager are not the same,” he added.
