Confederation of African Football announced on Sunday morning the date for CAF Awards 2022 after two years without holding the ceremony in the continent.
The ceremony did not take place both in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, CAF announced that it will take place this year and it will be next month in Morocco.
“This year’s edition of the prestigious award ceremony for African football, the CAF Awards 2022, will return on Thursday, 21 July 2022 in Morocco”, the continental governing body wrote on its official website.

“The CAF Awards will be held ahead of the final of Africa’s flagship women’s competitions, TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 20223 scheduled to take place between 02 July – 23 July 2022.”
Moreover, CAF introduced a new Award for this year’s ceremony, that of the ‘Interclubs Women Player of the Year’.
The votes will be made by captains and coaches of national teams, selected journalists, CAF Technical Study Group and CAF Legends.
In addition, the period which will be take into consideration for the Awards is from September 2021 until June 2022.
