Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek announce on Monday afternoon that Portuguese coach Jimmy Pacheco and his assistants will manage the club for a season with an option to renew their contract.
Zamalek’s coaching post was vacant since Patrice Carteron’s unexpected departure to Saudi Arabia. However, Mortada Mansour decided to take a technician that knows well the club in order to continue with the remaining games of the league. And obviously with CAF Champions league’s semi-final clash against Raja Athletic Club.
He will be assisted by Jose Pedro and Alex Costa.
In fact, Jimmy Pacheco coached Zamalek six years ago (2014). This a comeback to help the club maintain their form after clinching recently the league title for a record 42nd time.
“Jimmy Pacheco, the Portuguese coach, and his assistants Alex Costa and Jose Pedro sign contracts to take over the technical leadership of the football team in Zamalek for a renewable season.” Zamalek wrote on Twitter.
