One month after crossing the Paris marathon for his first on the distance, Kenenisa Bekele, world and Olympic champion of long-distance race, has once again got illustrated on the road in Manchester. The Ethiopian won the 10 km of the Great Manchester Run in 28 min 23 sec ahead of the Kenyan Wilson Kipsang (28min sec 28). The South African Stephen Mokoka finished third (29: 11).

For the ladies, Tirunesh Didaba has imposed herself with a time of 31 min 09 sec. She leads by over a minute Kenyan Polline Wanjiku (32: 10). The British Steel Gemma arrives third on the same time.
