AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Absa Premiership/South Africa: Gould & Mathoho back at training

The Kaizer Chiefs defensive ‘Twin Towers’ are up and about as Morgan Gould and Eric Mathoho returned to full training at Naturena this week, the club has reported.

Gould suffered an injury in August on the eve of the Mamelodi Sundowns match. As a result he missed out on a place in the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2013 Orange Africa Cup of Nations. Mathoho was withdrawn from the Bafana preliminary squad for the Afcon due to a knee injury.

“Morgan did well to work his way back from a bad injury. He was a professional from the beginning. We are all pleased that he has returned to full training. He trained with his teammates for the first time on Wednesday and did not complain of any pain,” team physio, Dave Milner Milner told the club’s official website.

The news of the return of the pair will be a boost for Amakhosi ahead of the resumption of the 2012/13 PSL fixtures in February after the X’mas break and the Africa Cup of Nations

The Kazier Chiefs, who are currently on top of the league table, open the year against Sundowns on February 12 at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria a game to watch.
