Africa Midfielder Derek set for Olympiacos medical

According to MTNfootball.com, Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng will undergo a medical this week at Greek giants Olympiacos ahead of a proposed move. The Dnipro FC player came close to joining Fulham in the January window, but the move collapsed over a contract dispute.

Boateng was unable to secure a release from his contract and had looked to take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to try and secure his release.

According to Sky Sports News, the 29-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Athens outfit that are keen on signing him.

He is well known in Greece after a successful three-year spell in the top flight having played for Kalamata, Panathinaikos and OFI Crete. Boateng was a member of the Ghana squad which finished fourth at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
