He is now linked up to 2017, as his contract was due to expire in June 2015.

“This is my fifth year at Bayern and there are now three more to come. I am looking forward to these years and I still hope to win many titles with the club,” he has welcomed on the club’s official website.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player scored 16 goals this season and delivered 13 assists in all competitions.
