Nigerian Players abroad Balogun Trains With Rangers Ahead Of Scottish League Kickoff

Leon Balogun has resumed training with his new club, Rangers FC ahead of the new Scottish Premier League season.

Balogun joined Rangers last week after signing one-year deal with the Scottish giants.

The Super Eagles defender trained with rest of his new teammates for the first time as Steven Gerrard hopes to out an end to Celtic title dominance next season.

The club in a short statement on its official website, www.rangers.co.uk confirmed Balogun trained with the team.

“After signing for the club last week, Balogun was on the training ground with his new teammates this week.”

Balogun could be available for selection on Saturday when the 2020-2021 Scottish Premier League gets underway.

Rangers league opener will be a trip to Aberdeen on Saturday before playing their Europa League round of 16 second leg game against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday.

Rangers will be facing a Herculean task ahead of their Europa League game against Leverkusen in Germany following their 3-1 loss at home in the first leg.

However, buoyed by their recent performance in their pre-season games which saw them unbeaten, they will be able to put up a good fight.

Nigerian international Joe Aribo and vice-captain Connor Goldson scored for the Gers last week Saturday as they wrapped up their pre-season with 2-0 victory over Coventry.
