African players abroad Salah Makes History For Liverpool Against Leeds United

Mohamed Salah became the first player to score a brace in the 2020/2021 Premier League season as Liverpool leads Leeds United by 3-2.

Salah opened scoring for Liverpool just four minutes of play from the spot after Robin Koch handled the ball inside the box.

He is now the first ever Liverpool player to score on the opening day of four consecutive league seasons.

He’s only the second to do so in the in the Premier League for any club, after Teddy Sheringham (1992-93 to 1995-96) according to Opta.

Also, he has now scored 50 goals in 63 home games in the Premier League.

Only Alan Shearer (47 apps) reached 50 home goals in fewer appearances in the competition’s history.
